I gotta a question…
We’ve got a problem here in my office, that started recently (when a certain person was hired) and I’m sick of it. A certain (tall, skinny, bitchy, blonde architect) pees all over the seats in the ladies room. And not just one stall, she picks a new one each time. I realize that The Squat is Common practice at, say, you’re local Union 76 gas station, but not necessary in an office restroom that is cleaned three times per day.
Furthermore, you can’t catch anything off a toilet seat. (There’s a great article written by Mary Roach on Salon.com about this.) And you can’t get VD from even the nastiest of toilet seats. The only chance of catching anything is food poisoning from not properly washing your hands.
In fact, given the choice of licking the average home cutting board or a toilet seat – pick the toilet seat.
So yesterday I was commiserating about this situation with another lady here in the office as we both went from stall to stall trying to find a clean one. We both think it’s disgusting and totally unnecessary, plus, a lady here who is pregnant is not able to squat so she’s forced to clean up someone’s mess first.
Enough!!!!
So. I printed out the article I mentioned above from Salon and I’m thinking of posting it up in the bathroom. But will I get fired? Is that something that could be offensive or something? I just don’t know. I should probably OK it with HR first and they’ll probably tell me not to do anything, but frankly someone has to do SOMETHING.
