On the bus today, I met the queen of L.A.

Monday again...

2004-10-04 - 11:38 a.m.

I didn’t really think you guys would *truly* hate me and never speak to me again, because I know you’re a fabulous group of people and far too big for that sort of thing, but it was a bit of a concern because “Political Stuffs” can be so polarizing. Especially this year.

Off my chest. Moving on.

So. October. Me love-y the October!! (Oh, and holy crap, I just realized our two year anniversary is in, like, 8 days. Things are doing well. I think. Whatever, presently employing the Ostrich Tactic – i.e. head-in-sand-not-dealing. ) But the wonderful thing is that lately it’s really FELT like October!! In LA that’s sort of a surprise. Last year we had those horrid wildfires and unbearable heat up until November, but this year I really feel a slight chill in the air, the light is changing and becoming sharper, and I actually smelled fireplace this morning when I left for work.

Woooonderful!!

I don’t even care if our apartment is teeny-tiny I’m decorating goddamnit! And tonight I want to make onion soup with little Gruyere cheese toasts.

Yesterday was spent at the Bar watching football and getting seriously, seriously, Drunky-McDrunky. And I did discover that I have a curiously good ability for Shuffleboard. Even after a gazillion beers and twelve million shots. Who knew?

Don’t ask me who won or who played, with exception of New England and Cleveland (both won – yeah!) Post those games I’ve no idea.

Then went to the friends and played Texas hold’em for about an hour until I hit the proverbial Beer Wall and had to be taxied home. Is it a bad sign I’ve got Yellow Cab on speed dial and I’m now a preferred customer? Whatever. $16 is cheaper than a DUI. But then when I got home I realized I didn’t have any fucking keys to get me into the fucking apartment so I had to very drunkenly wake up the Father-In-Law in the front house to get the extra set. That was fun. Explaining, and slurring, “wewere at fooball and he stayed and I don’thavethekeys, and I’m soooooosorrrrry” all while their schnauzer freaks right the hell out on me.

Then I played DJ eek on the husband’s computer and made my new favorite playlist which I’ve called “Easy Listening” – mostly mellow stuff by everyone from Steve Perry to Sinead O’Connor with things like Toad the Wet Sprocket thrown in for odd measure.

Just like eating sea urchin, it sounds really weird but tastes good.

Ok. Off I go to grab some lunch.

So Last Season - Circa Now
