On the bus today, I met the queen of L.A.

I wanna play too!!

2004-08-20 - 11:59 a.m.

Since all the cool kids are doin’ it:

Are you named after anyone? No.

Do you wish on stars? Yep. And stray eyelashes too.

Which finger is your favorite? Um, truly a tie between the ole’ One Finger Salute and my left-hand ring finger.

When did you last cry? Last Sunday. Though I get a little choked up pretty regularly.

Do you like your handwriting? Yeah, most of the time it’s pretty good.

What's your favorite lunch meat? Roast beef.

Any bad habits? Many, much easier to ask, “any you DON’T have?”

What is your most embarassing CD on the shelf? Garth Brooks. The husband purchased it, I’m totally innocent.

If you were another person, would you be friends with you? I like to think that I’m a good person, so yes, but I’m hard to get to know – so I’d probably never have the chance. And I’m also Nutty as a Fruit Cake so that could be a problem too.

Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell? I can’t remember. It’s been so long since anyone told me a secret (oh, and I forget stuff easily.) Though I think back in high school I probably let a few slip that I shouldn’t have.

Do looks matter? Yes. Especially here in LA.

How do you release anger? Badly. Either it comes out completely miss-directed or is surpressed until I go koo-koo.

Where is your second home? Central California.

What was your favorite toy as a child? A small Koala teddy-bear that someone gave to me on the day my mom married my step-dad. I still have him. I don’t know who it was that gave it to me, some friend of my parent’s (I was 5), but it was an incredible gesture. That person somehow knew how hard that day was for me and brought me a little present. I will always treasure him, my Koala bear, though I never named him. Close second is a small stuffed frog that plays “rain drops keep falling on my head.” This is strange to admit but I’ve spent a lot of time holding that frog the last few weeks.

What class in school do you think is totally useless? Many! I think our educational system needs a complete tear down and re-do.

Do you use sarcasm alot? Yes, and I think very few people actually catch it. Not to say I’m clever, not at all, just to say I’m usually the only one that gets my sick sense of humor.

Have you ever been in a mosh pit? No.

What do you look for in a guy/girl? Make me laugh.

What are your nicknames? Lizzie (from my middle name Elizabeth – my whole family uses it.)

Would you bungee jump? Not. In. A. Million. But I would jump out of a plane.

Do you think you are strong willed? Yes and no, changes like the tide.

What's your favorite ice cream flavor? Mint chip.

Shoe size? 8 or 8 ½ depending on the style.

What are your favorite colors? Green, black, red.

What is your least favorite thing? Loosing someone.

How many widsom teeth do you have? Zero. They’re all gone and it wasn’t even that bad. I’d rather have my wisdom teeth out again than get food poisoning, but I suppose that’s not exactly a deal I can make.

How many people have a crush on you right now? None.

What color pants are you wearing? Black skirt. I hate pants.

What are you listening to right now? My boss talking to his wife about their family drama.

Last thing you ate? A fruit, nut, and yogurt healthfoodie-type bar for breakfast and a giant coffee with a little cream.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Burnt Sienna.

What is the weather like right now? Humid, hazy, about 80.

Last person you talked to on the phone? Boss’ daughter. She’s presently on hold and being a bit, um, “high maintenance.”

First thing you notice about the opposite sex? I suppose height.

How are you today? Ok. My legs are sore even though I haven’t worked out since last Sunday, so I have no clue why.

Favorite drink? Pepsi One.

Favorite alcoholic drink? I’m a total lush so I can’t name just one - here’s a general listing: Cakebread Chardonnay or Niebaum-Coppola Rubicon, Gimlet, Kir Royale, Beer (Stella or Harp are tops,) *good* Scotch, vodka martini made preferably with Grey Goose (up with a twist,) Red Bull and vodka, Miller Light (falls into the beer/water category actually), and Irish Car Bombs. However, if I’m reasonably smashed already I drink damn near anything – the more I’ve had, the less picky I get. But the question was “favorite”, so eh.

Favorite sport? Football.

Hair color? Brown.

Eye color? Hazel-isj green. Sometimes look very green, sometimes very brown.

Do you wear contacts? No.

Siblings? Two older step-brothers on step-dad’s side, and a step-sister and step-brother from my dad’s second marriage. I have very little contact with any of them.

Favorite food? Again. So hard to name just one, but at the moment I’d kill for a spicy tuna roll from Asakuma. Also I adore good bread slathered with butter (and I wonder why my ass is so big?)

Last movie you watched? Bend it Like Beckham (LOOOOVED IT!!)

What is your favorite day of the year? I don’t have one. Favorite and best days are the ones that just happen completely spontaneaously. Or, um, maybe Halloween actually.

Are you too shy to ask someone out? No. Did it all the time ‘back in the day.

Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings.

Hugs or kisses? Hugs.

What are your current living arrangements? Live with my husband in a one-bedroom apartment behind our in-laws house. Cheap rent and it’s kinda cute, though seriously lacking in closet space.

What's on your mouse pad? It looks like an Oriental Rug. Got it in West Hollywood at some random gift shop.

Favorite board game? I suppose Monopoly. But I’d rather play dominos any day.

What did you watch on TV last night? Olympics and the World Series of Poker, sorta switched back and forth.

Favorite smell? Ok. This is really weird but I love the smell of fuel – either Jet A at an airport or just plain gas at the station. I know. I’m strange.

What is the first thing you think when you wake up? “What day is it?” and that’s followed by, “fuuuuuuck,” if it’s a weekday or “aaaahhhh,” if it’s a weekend day. And, yes, sometimes there is a big lag in between the question and the answer depending on how much booze had been consumed the night before.

Favorite sound? Soooooo many. The sound of a casino, the chingling and woooping and cheers. The sound the plane makes when the tires hit the runway. My husbands voice when he says, “heah baby!” (I’m hearing that more often these days thankfully.) The random sound you hear when you walk into a pub like music, sports on TV, people laughing. The traffic in San Francisco, it sounds so different and is completely distinct, I love it.

So Last Season - Circa Now
